WATERBORO- Barbara Mary Belanger, age 72, of Waterboro, passed away on Dec. 21, 2014 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1942 in Sanford, a daughter of the late Harold and Edna (Cote) Bennett.
After graduating from Sanford High School, Barbara went on to attend Cosmetology school and became a hairdresser.
For many years, she owned and operated “Country Cut and Curl” in Shapleigh.
She enjoyed knitting, riding with her husband on their Harley – Davidson, listening to piano music, reading, dancing with her husband, and karaoke; however; Barbara will always be remembered as a very outgoing and social person who loved her dear friends and family.
She is predeceased by several siblings; a granddaughter- Ashley Mae Belanger; and a grand niece- Lacy Richard who passed away in 2012.
Barbara is survived by her husband- Raymond Belanger; children- Kim Beaulieu of Jacksonsville, FL, Kevin Belanger and his wife Jill of Jacksonville, FL, Brian Belanger and his girlfriend Christine Pfeiffer of Waterboro, and Eric Belanger and his wife Julie of Jacksonville, FL; brother- Raymond Bennett of Lisbon; sisters- Connie Moad of Lisbon and Joan Henkenliable of St. Mary's GA; grandchildren- Corey, Natasha, Michael, Kayla, Collin, Destiny, and Lorelei; and great grandchild- Marlee.
Visiting hours will be on Friday Dec. 26 from 6-8 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. A Roman Catholic Funeral Service will be held at the funeral chapel on Saturday at 10 AM. Burial will be in the spring at South Buxton Cemetery.
