Gaetano Squillante, age 66, of Wilmington formerly of Medford, passed away unexpectedly, December 13th. He was the beloved husband of the late Zina (Pesce) Squillante. Born in Italy he was the son of the late Maria (Annunziata) and Salvatore Squillante.
Mr. Squillante was a retired hairdresser and was the owner and operator of the Bella Mia Salon in Billerica where he worked for many years. He enjoyed good food and being surounded with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Squillante was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his daughters, Annmarie Steed and her husband William of Wilmington, Carla Buonopane and her husband John of Wilmington, and Lisa Riccardi and her husband David of Lexington. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Angela, Talia and Grace Steed, Nicholas and Nina Riccardi. He is further survived by his sisters, Carolina Santostefano of East Boston, Maria Annunziata of Stoneham, Lucy Lees of Somerville, Elvira DiPietrantonio of Medford and is preceded in death by his brother, Raffaele Squillante.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Monday at 9 AM. Followed by funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 warner St. Medford/Somerville at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
