Mrs. Anna Christina Teresa Del Giudice Companion Morris went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 15, 2014 in Yulee, Florida at the age of 81.
Anna is survived by her three sons, Robert A. Companion, Sr. (Anna), Paul R. Companion (Jacqui), and James M. Companion (Teresa), her two grandsons, Robert T. Companion (Erin) and Russell Companion, four granddaughters, Lisa Young (Billy), Liza Nipper (Shane), Christina Schmidt (Jeff), and April Companion, ten great-grandchildren, and several close friends she considered family. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, her first husband, Robert T. Companion, second husband, Russell G. Morris, and her eldest grandson, Robert A. Companion, Jr.
Anna was born on October 02, 1933 in the Bronx, New York, New York to Nicholas and Mary Del Giudice. She married Robert T. Companion, a World War II Navy Veteran, in 1957. Anna moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1960, with her husband and three sons. Anna was a devoted wife and caring mother. After the death of her first husband in 1978, Anna married Russell G. Morris, a Vietnam War Navy Veteran, and cared for him until he passed in 1985. Anna was a three time cancer survivor, and spent her later years encouraging young people to avoid tobacco. Anna was a member of Hedges Baptist Church, where she enjoyed worshiping Jesus with her friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at Hedges Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
