Ramona M. (Barros) Webb, 89, of New Bedford died December 16, 2004 after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Arthur M. Webb, and daughter of the late Caetano and Candida (Gomes) Barros.
Mrs. Webb was born in Wareham and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. James Church.
Mrs. Webb was formerly employed as an administrator at Otis Air Force Base for many years until her retirement. She had previously been employed as Executive Secretary to City of New Bedford Mayor Francis J. Lawler during his administration. Mrs. Webb also worked in the Governor's office in Rhode Island and the law firm of Bronspiegl & Zeman in New Bedford.
Mrs. Webb served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Medical Laboratory Technician and Court Reporter.
She enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Ronald E. Webb of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Constance B. "Connie" Tolentino, and her husband LeRoy, of New Bedford, and Candida J. "Candy" Hodge of Dartmouth; a brother, Charles Barros, and his wife Paula, of Wareham; 1 sister, Jennie Goncalves, and her husband Henry, of Wareham; 1 brother-in-law, Manuel Neves of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Mary Neves and Amos Barros.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford
Monday, December 20th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Sunday, December 19th from 4-8 PM.
Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery.
