Alfred "Butch" Sormanti, 69, of Greenville Road in North Smithfield passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 13, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Recchia) Sormanti. They were married for 46 years.
Born in Providence, a son of Alfred and Edith (Shippee) Sormanti. He had lived in North Smithfield for the past 14 years, previously living in North Providence.
Mr. Sormanti was the owner of Sormanti Electric. Butch loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed taking family trips together. He was an avid New York Yankee and Boston Bruins fan.
He is also survived by his cherished daughters; Lisa Ciccone of North Providence, Dawn Evangelista and her husband Joe of North Smithfield, Pamela Villella and her husband Frank of Lincoln, his grandchildren: Daniel, Anthony and Michael Ciccone, Britney and Kyle Evangelista and Jessica and Gianna Villella, his great granddaughter, Gianna Ciccone and two sisters, Bridget Blais of Cranston and Brenda Russell of Tampa, FL.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 9am in St. Anthony’s Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 PM in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI .
