Obituary

GLOUCESTER – Capt. Carlo Ciolino, 75, died Saturday evening, December 13, 2014, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital following an extended illness. He was the husband of Mary J. (Lovasco) Ciolino.
Born in Terrasini, Sicily on December 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Angela (Ciarametaro) Ciolino.
Carlo came to Gloucester at the age of 27. He fished aboard numerous vessels including the f/v Texas, Hazel B and Jean D’Arc. He ultimately became the captain of his own boat, the f/v Angela C. He was a life-member of the St. Peter’s Club.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Anthony Cassettari, a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Melissa (Lumia) Ciolino, seven grandchildren, Anthony, Jr., Nicholas, Christopher, Michael, and Isabella Cassettari, Ryan Ciolino and Devon Muise,; four sisters, Grace Ingassia, Agetha Moceri, Rosa and Maria Ciolino; his brother-in-law, Sebastian “Busty” Lovasco, and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Anthony Ciolino, sister, Antoinette Indelacato, and in-laws, Peter and Catherine Lovasco.
His funeral Mass will be held on Thursday morning in the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Please omit flowers. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
