John Timothy "Timmy" Cone, 52, of Tifton died Friday, December 12, 2014, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Isaac Thomas officiating. Mr. Cone will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jamie Hill, Antoinne Golden, Trae Thomas, Billy Hogan, Scottie Hogan and B. J. Pitts will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Cone was born on July 31, 1962 in Lakeland, Florida and was the son of Margery Grace Allen Cone and the late George John Cone. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Nicholes. He was a former employee of South Georgia Ice Company.
Timmy was a kind and gentle man, who enjoyed gardening and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Cone is survived by his wife, Katherine Hill Cone of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, David Antoinne and Mae Golden of Tifton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Ike Thomas of Irwin County and Sheila and Billy Hogan of Tifton; four grandchildren, Candace Golden, Stormi Golden, Jaclyn Golden and T. J. Golden; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
