NORTHFIELD – Donald P. Shedd, 75, of 4 Turnpike Road, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Concord Hospital after a long illness.
He was born on November 22, 1939 in Concord, the son of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Brower) Shedd. Donald served in the US Army and worked briefly as a Public Accountant for his father. He worked for 50 years as an Operations Coordinator for Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant in Meredith. After retirement, he worked for AutoServ in Tilton. Don loved the ocean and spending time on Lake Winnipesaukee and Newfound Lake. He loved boating, hunting, camping and enjoyed archery. He especially enjoyed puttering in the yard and tinkering in the cellar with his tools. Don was a jack of all trades.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (LaPierre) Shedd of Northfield, one son, Jeffrey W. Shedd of Oklahoma, one daughter, Kathy L. Kelley of Chicago, IL., one stepson, Howard Hockett of Lee, one stepdaughter, Laura Witts and her husband Gary of Nashua, three brothers; David Shedd and his wife Doris of Andover, Dean Shedd and his wife Joyce of New Hampton and Douglas Shedd and his wife Pamela of Vancouver, WA., one grandchild, Michael Kelley, two step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his two beloved dogs, Billie and Millie.
Calling hours will be held from 1PM to 3PM and from 5PM to 7PM on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7PM, also at the funeral home.
Committal services with military honors will be held at 11:30AM on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Blossom Hill Cemetery, North State Street, Concord.
