Fall River – Blanche Y. (Hamel) Fontaine, 75, of Westport died Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Paul E. Fontaine.
Mrs. Fontaine was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Leonidas and Yvonne (Plante) Hamel, and was a resident of Westport for most of her life. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. She was an avid knitter, enjoyed cooking and being with her family.
Including her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: Richard P. Fontaine of Brockton and William A. Fontaine of Westport; 2 daughters: Paulette J. Fontaine of Boston and Michelle B. Fontaine of Mill Valley, CA; 3 brothers: Napoleon Hamel of Cumberland, RI, Normand Hamel of Fall River and Alfred Hamel of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Donat Hamel, Aime Hamel and Albert Hamel.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 P.M.
Interment will be private.
