Katherine V. (Brown) Brooks, 86, of Derry, NH died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at her residence. She was born on April 18, 1928 in Raymond, NH, the daughter of the late George and Clara (Fitts) Brown. Mrs. Brooks was employed in the shoe industry and loved working outside in her yard after her retirement. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, John A. Brooks, two daughters, Sheila B. Evans and her husband Les, Sharon R. Cyr and her husband Robert, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, her brother, Ralph Brown and many nieces, nephews, close neighbors and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, John P. Brooks, Jr and her daughter, Sandra K. Collyns.
Calling hours were held Friday, December 12, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service followed at 4:00pm in the funeral home. Private burial in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry will be held by the family at a later date.
