Hazel M. (Daigle) Soriano,
age 79, passed away on Dec.
3, 2014 at Baystate Medical
Center. She was born in Fort
Kent, ME, a daughter of the
late Wilfred and Alphonsine
(Pelletier) Daigle. She was a
communicant of St Patrick’s
Church in South Hadley. Hazel
moved to Springfield and
was a graduate of Commerce
High School. She traveled
with her husband and three
children for 20 years in the
United States Air Force and
was a Red Cross volunteer in
Green Park Japan. She was a
crossing guard in Springfield
and lived there for 27 years. She
was also an avid bingo player.
Hazel is predeceased by her
husband Elvie C. Soriano who
passed away on May 18, 2007.
She leaves her 2 sons, Wayne
Soriano and his wife Diane of
Granby and Brian Soriano and
his wife Julie of Springfield; 1
daughter, Tina LaScala and her
husband Richard of Chicopee; 4
grandchildren Alyssa, Nicholas,
Samantha and Gina Marie;
2 sisters Eula Maloney of
Chicopee and Noella Labbe of
Milford, CT. She also leaves
many nieces and nephews. She is
predeceased by her sister Alice
“Bell” Morytko. All services
will be private for family. Burial
will be held at the MA Veterans
Memorial Cemetery. The Grise
Funeral Home is entrusted with
arrangements. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be
