Hilda (Furtado) Mello, age 91 of Fall River passed away December 2, 2014. She was the widow of Everett Mello and daughter of the late Manuel and Francis (Oliveira) Furtado. She graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School and Herricks Business Institute, retired as a bookkeeper at the former North End Dairy and was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Hilda was the mother of Lisa Dugal (husband Raymond) of Tiverton and Nancy Southworth (husband Roger) of Somerset; sister of the late Hortense Souza, Laura Massey and Lena Suspiro, Charles and Frank Furtado; grandmother of Eric Southworth, Kimberly Salois, Matthew, Evan and Sarah Dugal; great grandmother of Andrew and Jacob Salois. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River FRIDAY with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours are private. www.rogersfuneral.com
