Obituary

Ronald R.J. Chabot, 84 years, of North Andover and formerly of Methuen, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at his late residence. Mr. Chabot was born on September 13, 1930 in Lawrence to the late Joseph and Yvonne Chabot. Ronald was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps who served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his 20 years of faithful active service for his country, Mr. Chabot rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was active in the Marine Corps Rifle and Pistol Team. Ronald was a member of St. Monica's Parish and Choir, in the Merrimack Valley Townsman Barbershop Quartet and in the Happy Hearts of the Methuen Senior Center. He enjoyed cribbage, bowling and working in his vegetables garden.

Mr. Chabot was the beloved husband of Janet M. (Mercier) Chabot with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Donna Wajon and her husband Eddy of Western Australia, Susan Hutchinson and her husband Bob of Hillsboro, NH, Patricia Williams and her husband Steve of Bristol, NH, and James Chabot and his wife Theresa of Derry, NH. He was the cherished grandfather of Aaron, Brooke, Brianna and Nina and the cherished great grandfather of Zach, Sage, Hunter, Gavin and Payton. Ronald was the dear brother of Evelyn and the late Henry, Rita, Raymond and Richard Chabot. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and guests are invited to call on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 9:00 AM at St. Monica's Parish, 214 Lawrence St. Methuen. Immediately following the funeral mass, full military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps outside St. Monica's Parish. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald's memory may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave. Suite 2 Norwood, MA 02062.
