WORCESTER-Ruth M. (Hayes) Wheeler, 84, formerly of 52 Country Club Boulevard died, Sunday December 13th in Knollwood Nursing Center. Her husband of 43 years Elmer E. Wheeler died in 1983. She leaves her son Robert J. and his wife EleanorWheeler of Dracut, 2 brothers Arthur Hayes of Uxbridge, Raymond L. Lavigne of Shrewsbury, a sister, Vera B. Seguin of Worcester, 4 grandchildren, Susan Maille of Nashua, Deborah and Robert J. Wheeler, Jr. both of Lowell and Mark Wheeler of Boston, and 2 great-grandchildren Dylan and Keira Maille.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Frank and Clara (Wilcox) Hayes. Mrs. Wheeler was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Worcester and was active as a volunteer at the church and with its BINGO program, and was an accomplished seamstress.
The funeral is Wednesday, December 15th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 35 Hamilton Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
