Obituary

David Lee Camp, 34, of Omega died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Omega Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Powell, Rev. Parker Husley and Wade Crumley officiating. Mr. Camp will be laid to rest at Lenox Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Camp will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Jerry Young, Jake Jernigen, Anthony Jones, Justin Sumner, Justin Hale, Lee Payne, Bo Helms, Matt Patterson, Ryan Vowell, Jeremy Hathcock and Josh Hendrix will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Camp’s uncles, Kenny Swain, Clarence Swain, Travis Swain, Joe Camp, Jerry Camp and Danny Harrell.

Mr. Camp was born on May 21, 1980 in Tifton and was the son of Fred Camp and Cindy Swain Camp of Omega. He was employed at Omega Peanut Company and had lived his entire life in Omega. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert L. Swain; Morris and Magdalene Camp; Archie and Verna Swain, H. T. and Mamie Camp, Lonza and Georgia Clements and Bill and Christine “Granny Teen” Robinson. He loved spending time with his daughter, fast cars, hunting, fishing and cooking.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Camp is survived by one daughter, Julia Rayne Camp of Omega and her mother, Amanda; his grandmother, Evelyn Swain of Omega; his mother-in-law, Eva Kompoltowicz of Valdosta; one brother and sister-in-law, Mark Camp and Meaghan Cosand of Sacramento, California; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna Camp Nation and husband, Aaron of Marfa, Texas; a sister-in-law, Eva Lott of Valdosta; three nephews, Barrett and Garrison Nation of Marfa, Texas and Jett Nixon of Valdosta; and a niece, Alayna Nation of Marfa, Texas.
