Earley Harper, 90, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla, with Elder Elliotte Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla from 7:00 until 9:00, Monday evening.
Mr. Harper was born June 4, 1914, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late J.J. “Buck” and Nettie Hickman Harper. He had lived in Irwin County most all of his life. He was a retired livestock buyer having worked at Irwin County Livestock Company for 42 years. He was also a former employee of Fitzgerald Livestock Company. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Harper is survived by three sons: Billy Harper of Memphis, TN, Wayne Harper of Thomaston, and Rondy Harper of Ocilla; one daughter, Kathy H. Thompson of Sylvester; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Miriam “Sister” Harper; four children: Earleen Harper, Waldo Harper, Raymond Harper, and Gary Harper and one grandson, Drew Harper.
