Josephine “Jo” (Patti) Sorrento, 85, of Walpole, formerly of Norfolk, Franklin and Norwood passed away on November 24,2014. Beloved wife of the late Charles Sorrento.
Born in Medford , daughter of the late Mary (DiCarlo) Patti and Salvatore Patti. Josephine graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s High School and was employed by Verizon, formerly New England Telephone Company. Upon retirement, Josephine travelled extensively in Europe and across the United States .
She treasured being actively involved with her grandchildren, whether cheering them on at the sidelines,attending school plays or passing on the fine art of cannoli making.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends, as an avid scrabble player and book club member. Josephine volunteered her time as a member of the prayer shawl group of St. Mary’s in Franklin.
Devoted Mother of Paul Sorrento and his wife Susan of Norfolk, MA, Karen Corbesero and her husband Steven of Wrentham, MA and Gregory Sorrento of Franklin, MA. Loving grandmother to Steven Jr., James, Troy, Noah and Michaela.
Sister of Marie Gannon and her husband Bob of Falmouth and Jean Nerich and her husband, the late John Nerich of Lynn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend services. Visiting hours at the Ginley Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, FRANKLIN, Friday November 28th from 4-8 pm.
Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Franklin, Saturday morning, November 29th at 10:00 AM.
Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
