Lynne W. Blake, 74, longtime resident of Pembroke, died November 22, 2014 after a long illness. Lynne was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Robert L. Blake and her son, James R. Blake. She is loved and remembered by her son Daniel Blake and his wife Laurie of Lynnfield, daughter Deborah Mathis and her husband Ken of Merrimack, N.H., and daughter Jacquelyn Blake and Nicolas Pino of Plymouth. Lynne also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Becca, David, Kevin and Penelope.
Lynne is survived by her sister, Betsy “Liz” Lebbos of California, brother-in-laws Barry Blake and his wife Jewel of Mashpee, George Daniels and his wife Janis of Stratham, N.H., Brian Daniels and his wife Caren of Laconia, N.H., and sister-in-law Bette Marcoux of Winnetka, California. Lynne is also survived by an adopted son, Don Scoggins, and several nieces and nephews.
Lynne was born in Brockton but spent much of her youth in Key Biscayne, Florida where she enjoyed the beach and sailing. Lynne was a graduate of Miami Senior High School and attended the University of Miami and secretarial school. Lynne was a devoted homemaker and mother. She was an active member of the Marshfield and then Rockland congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Lynne took great comfort in scripture and was an avid reader of the bible. She and Robert enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 10-11:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke, with a funeral service set to begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Center Cemetery in Pembroke.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynne's memory to the Old Colony Elder Services, 144 Main St., Brockton, MA 02301 which supports the independence and dignity of elders by providing services that promote healthy and safe living.
