FALL RIVER – Andrew S. Lima, 87, of 100 Amity Street, formerly of 1062 Slade Street Fall River, died Friday, December 10th at the Southpointe Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of the late Agnes (Machado) Lima. He leaves 2 sons: Andrew R. Lima of Florida and Thomas Lima of Fall River, 1 daughter: Margaret “Peg” Oliveira of Florida, 1 brother: Leo Lima of Fall River, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John & Manuel Lima, Mary (Lima) Mendoza, Irene (Lima) Silvia, and Mable (Lima) Mello.
Mr. Lima was born in Fall River and a life long resident of the city. He was the son of the late Andrew Lima and the late Rose (Moniz) Lima. Prior to retiring in 1979, Mr. Lima worked as a Pipe Fitter for Salvo’s Machine Shop for 10 years. He was also a member of Good Shepherd Parish, formerly St. Patrick’s Church on So. Main St. Fall River.
His funeral will take place on Tuesday, December 14th at 8:00 AM from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 No. Main St. Fall River followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in Good Shepherd Parish, So. Main St. Fall River. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove Ave. Fall River. CALLING HOURS ARE MONDAY FROM 4:00 TO 8:00 PM
