Obituary

Bolton, Warren R. of Natick, age 91, formerly of Weston, Chatham and Punta Gorda, Florida passed peacefully on November 18, 2014 at Metrowest Medical Center in Natick. Mr. Bolton was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Doris (Besso) Bolton. He was the father of four children: David W. Bolton, of Scottsville, Virginia, the late Carol A. Buell, Janice R. Bolton of Ashland, Massachusetts and the late Nancy M. Bolton. He was predeceased by his parents Charles L.E. Bolton and Mary J. (Mattie) Bolton and his siblings Dorothy A. Strickland, Charles L.E. Bolton, junior and Arlene Pettengil. He is survived by his brother Richard Bolton of Stow and Shirley A. Fitzpatrick of Natick. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bolton was raised as a third generation resident of Weston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Weston High School in 1941. He served in the 9th Air Force, AAC in World War II and was credited with 26 missions over Germany. He survived a crash landing while in combat. After leaving the military Mr. Bolton attended and graduated from Suffolk Law School in 1951 and he was authorized to practice before the Supreme Judicial courts of both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as other appellate courts including the U.S. Supreme court. Mr. Bolton maintained a law practice in Massachusetts until his retirement. He was also a licensed realtor who developed property in Massachusetts and in Florida.
Mr. Bolton was a lifelong member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He served 45 years as a Sergeant in Company 12 of the Ancient and Honorable & Honorable Artillery of Massachusetts. He was an active member of the Catholic Church. He was also very active in civic organizations. He was a member of Kiwanis International and served as the governor of the New England Region of Kiwanis International in 1969 and 1970, was a participant in the Kiwanis Canada Good Will program and he was active in local clubs in both Massachusetts and Florida. While in Florida, he was a member of the Charlotte Republican Club and a former member of St. Andrews South Golf Club and the Isles Yacht club of Punta Gorda. Following retirement Mr. Bolton volunteered on many civic projects and was a generous donor to many worthwhile causes.

Visiting hours will be held at George F. Doherty and Sons Funeral Home at 477 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA on Sunday November 23rd from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 10 a.m. November 24th.
