Sal J. Silverio, 84, died Saturday at the Mass General Hospital following a brief illness, He was the husband of the late Regina H. (Walker). Born in Boston he was the son of the late Celia (DiDonato) and Fileno Silverio.
Sal was a retired Medford Police Officer, and later became a self employed carpenter. He made his home in Medford for over sixty years and enjoyed his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Jack, two sisters, Theresa Santullo and Bernice Oliveri, and a brother John Silverio.
Surviving are his sons Joseph and Gerard there wives Eleanor and Dianne, His daughter in law Elaine. His grandchildren Krista, Todd and Erika Silverio, Cheryl Finn, Samantha, Jay , Marissa and Joseph Silverio Jr. His great grandchildren Anthony, Marialayna and Matthew Finn, Taylor, Jared, Justine and Joseph Silverio III. His two sisters Helen DePrizio and Josephine Oliveri.
His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, on Tuesday, April 2, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church 71 Warner St. Medford/Somerville at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Monday 4 thru 8.
