DAYTONA,FL: Carole A. (Dorval) Mackey, age 68, a resident of Deland, FL, formerly of Lowell, passed away at the Halifax Hospital on Monday, October 27, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of Richard F. "Dick" Mackey, with whom she celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on April 20, 2014.
Born in Lowell on September 18, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George H. Dorval and the late Simonne R. (Major) Dorval.
Carole was raised in Lowell, where she attended St. Louis School and graduated from St. Louis Academy in 1964.
Prior to her retirement, she was worked as an accounts payable and receivable clerk for the Princeton Properties Company in Lowell from 1973 until 2002.
Carole was an active member of her retirement community in Florida.
She enjoyed cooking, writing poetry, and being with her beloved dog, "Sox".
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Sarah J. (Mackey) Pooler and her husband Daniel B. Pooler, III of Milford, NH; two grandchildren, Mackenzie J. and Jordan M. Pooler, both of Milford, NH; two sisters, Patricia E. (Dorval) Bukofske of Nashua, NH and Sandra M. (Dorval) Woods of Blythewood, SC; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m., at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment to follow at Tewksbury Cemetery.
