Obituary

Thomas R. Leahy, of Dedham, died on December 10, 2004 at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston. He was 79. Mr. Leahy was born in Quincy MA and was the son of the late William F. & Rose J. (Deyoung) Leahy. He has been a Dedham resident since 1961 and worked as a machinist for Westinghouse of Readville for 40 years. Mr. Leahy was a member of the IAMAW Union.
He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Kelliher) Leahy. Devoted father of Rosemary Chermesino and her husband Joseph of Hanson, Thomas Leahy Jr. and his wife Barbara of Kingston, Ellen Lytle and her husband Gary of Dedham, Catherine Chermesino and her husband Richard of East Bridgewater, Michael Leahy of Newton, Florence Agostinho and her husband Michael of Dedham, and the late Joan Leahy. He was the brother of Mary O’Donnell of West Bridgewater, Marion Crowley of Foxboro, James Leahy of Quincy, Theresa Pennie of CA, Alice Tullish of Hull, Helen Lane of Quincy, and the late David, Clarence, George and William Leahy, Kathleen Miller, and Florence Woodsum. Mr. Leahy is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
A funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Monday at 9:00 am. Followed by a funeral mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, West Roxbury, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 4-8 pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Thomas’ memory to the Boston Catholic T.V. Center, 55 Chapel St., Box 9109, Newton, MA 02460-0109.
