FRAMINGHAM: Peter Graham Babkie, 63, died on October 10, 2014 following a period of declining health.
He was born in New York City, New York on November 22, 1950 the son of the late Joseph Babkie and Joyce (Williams) Babkie.
Peter is survived by his daughter Lisa B. Kurker of Duxbury. He was the grandfather of Taylor Kurker, Kayli Kurker, Brooke Kurker and Zakby Kurker all of Duxbury. He was the brother of Robert Babkie and his wife Amy Babkie of Port St. Lucie, FL and the late Michael Babkie. Also the brother-in-law of Andrea Babkie of Lantana, FL. He was the former husband of Janet Fay of Millis and Donna Pascarella of Bourne.
Peter was a resident of Framingham for the past few years and previously resided in Wayland and spent his formative years in Westport, CT. He was a graduate of Staples High School in Westport, CT and received his BS in Education from Boston University. Peter had a long career in the field of education and was a Life Science teacher for the City of Newton at the Meadowbrook Junior High/Charles E. Brown Middle School. He was also a Team Leader at the school as well as the girls’ softball coach for many years. He enjoyed tennis, golf, boating and loved music. He was an accomplished drummer and enjoyed playing throughout the years. Peter was an outgoing individual and enjoyed being around people from all walks of life.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland. Remembrances of his life will be shared by friends and family from 3:30 to 4:00 pm.
