Obituary

Argyrios H. Stamatelatos, 34, of Slatersville, RI died Tuesday, November 11th. He is survived by his wife of eleven years Diana (Smith) Stamatelatos; his son, Matthew Hercules Stamatelatos, his parents, Herikles and Helen (Kokalis) Stamatelatos; brother, Panagiotis Stamatelatos all of Slatersville; his father-in-law Thomas Smith, Sr. and brother-in-law, Thomas Smith, Jr. both of Pascoag, RI and his mother-in-law Marie (French) Smith of Warwick, RI, and many cousins and aunts in Greece, as well as cousins in Worcester, Douglas and Maine.
Argyrios was born in Worcester, and returned with his parents to Greece in 1989, returning to Rhode Island in 1998; during that time he attended grammar school, junior and senior high school there. While in Greece he developed a love for soccer, and enjoyed coaching his son Matthew, sharing the skills he learned in Greece. Argyrios had worked as a cook for Town Talk Roast Beef in North Attleboro. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
His funeral is Monday, November 17th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at Noon in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A visitation period will be held from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. the day of the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
