FALL RIVER – Georgiana (Ferreira) Rioux, 90, of 495 New Boston Road, Fall River, formerly of Marchand St., died Thursday, December 9th at the Kimwell Health Care Center. She is survived by 2 sons: Thomas Rioux of Westport and Ronald Rioux of Fall River, 4 daughters: Shirley Rioux of Tiverton, Carolyn Laflamme of Fall River, Jeanne Medeiros of New Bedford, and Joan Sylvia of Somerset, 1 brother: Alphonse Ferreira of Tampa, FL, 1 sister: Dorothy Ward of Atoka, OK, 25 grandchildren, 32 Great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert & Pauline Rioux and sister of the late Joseph Ferreira, Rita Boucher, Etelvina Bradhurst, Maria Zanni, Rose Viveiros, and Aurore Langendorf.
She was born in Fall River and also a lifelong resident of the city. She was the daughter of the late Manuel Ferreira and the late Aurore (Faber) Ferreira. Prior to retiring, she was a Sewing Machine Operator at Shelbourn Shirt Co. and was also a member of Notre Dame Church.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 North Main Street, Fall River, MA on Saturday, December 11th at 8:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church, Eastern Ave., Fall River, MA at 9:00 AM. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Road, Fall River, MA. Calling hours will be on Friday, December 10th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
