Julia "Annette" Burnum Sandifer, 81, of Enigma died Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Brookfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. Mrs. Sandifer will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Sandifer will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Sandifer's nephews, Mark Sandifer, Steve Sandifer, Bryan Burnum, Scott Burnum, Neal Adcock, Jim Adcock, Nicholas Loper and Oliver Loper will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons and their wives and Mrs. Sandifer's Sunday school class at Brookfield Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sandifer was born on March 7, 1933 in Tift County and was the daughter of Ernest Lee Burnum, Sr. and Reba Louise Jackson Burnum, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carroll B. Sandifer; a sister, Reba Elise Loper; and two brothers, Maurice Burnum and Ernest Lee Burnum, Jr. She was a homemaker and was employed for ten years with the Berrien County School System.
Mrs. Sandifer is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne Curry and C. J. Cater of Tifton, Sherry and Allen Hoover, Jr. of Brookfield and Susan and Darrell Bromlow of Brookfield; one sister, Hilda Jane McKenney of Cairo; a sister-in-law, Betty Burnum of Nashville; four grandchildren, Tara C. Parry, Stephen O. Curry, Carrie M. Barlow and husband, Mike and Holly R. Garren; three great-grandchildren, Dillon Bromlow, Owen Garren and Cali Garren; and her special care-giver, Charlene Saxton.
