Edward James Smith, 91, went home to his Lord Sunday November 9, 2014 at Maple Park Village Nursing Center, Westfield, IN.
He was born in Long Branch, West Virginia, September 25, 1923 to Hearse P. & Madge (Evans) Smith.
Edward was a retired Minister and member of Ecclesia Fellowship, Louisville, KY.
He graduated from Anderson University in 1951 with a Bachelors degree and obtained his Master of Arts
In Counseling & Guidance from West Virginia University in 1973.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, serving with honor in the 742nd Military Police Battalion and a Bronze Star recipient.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Margaret (Holmes) Smith and his second wife: Evelyn (Anderson) Spencer Smith and a Son: Randall Jason Smith.
Survivors include three Step-Daughters: Rebecca S. Melson (Randal), Valeta A. Miller (Mark) and Jyll Spencer Aumick; two Step-Sons: Clifford Spencer and Michael E. Spencer (Kathy);
12 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild; 2 Sisters: Datas Warden and Martha Sue Smith; a Brother: George Smith.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow in Beth Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday 12:00 Noon till 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
