Obituary

Staff Sergeant Raymond Lee “ Sarge “ Miller of Stoughton, a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict passed away on November 6, 2014 in Brockton. He was 87 years old and the beloved husband of Maria J." Mary " (Gonsalves) DeCaires Miller.

Born March 25, 1927 in Lexington, South Carolina he was the son of the late Robert L. and Birdie (Barr) Miller. He was employed by the Town Of Walpole in their Parks Department for over twenty years.

Mr. Miller is survived by his sons Frank DeCaires of Stoughton and David L. Miller of South Carolina. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren, Nicole L. ( DeCaires ) Meneses and her husband Paul of Raynham, Christopher F. DeCaires of Stoughton and his 6 great- grandchildren, Alyssa, Aiden, Ashlyn, Avery, Kyle and C.J. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 12, 2014 from 4 – 6 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. His funeral will be held on Thursday November 13, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton followed by a Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of his soul at 10:30 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton. All are welcome to attend. Funeral services will conclude with military honors and cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to a veteran's charity of one’s choice in Ray’s memory, would be appreciated.
