Obituary

Edna (Bailey) Mitchell, 84, of Franklin, died November 9, in her home. She was the wife of Vincent R. Mitchell.
Born in Braintree, November 22, 1929, the daughter of the late Harrison W. and Kisbro (Burton) Bailey, Mrs. Mitchell had lived in Millis, Pelham, New Hampshire prior to moving to Franklin two years ago.
Mrs. Mitchell had been a stitcher in several textile mills. She had also worked as a ceramics teacher and a private detective.
Edna was a talented artist and loved animals.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Marion Syngay of Franklin, Jack Mitchell of Manchester, New Hampshire, David Mitchell of Southwick, Gary Mitchell of Douglas, Diane Clancy of Norfolk, Edward Mitchell of Pelham, New Hampshire and Mary Cates of Uxbridge.
She also cared for many foster children.
Edna is also survived by her sister Pauline Colburn of Plymouth and her 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 10:00.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7. P.M. in the funeral home.
