Nannie Mae LeBlanc Snead Moody, known to many as Granny, 84, passed away on November 8, 2014, at her home in Fernandina Beach, Fl. She was born on November 23, 1929 in Delcambre ,Louisiana, to the late Martin LeBlanc and Estella Viator. Preceding her in death is a sister Eunice (Gene) Hogarth and a brother Winnis LeBlanc.
Ms. Moody is survived by three sons, John (Becky) Snead, Joey (Kathy) Snead and Mike( Tina) Snead all of Yulee, FL. Four daughters Jeannette( Arthur) Shelton of Richmond, Kentucky, Annette (Raymond) Snead of Fernandina Beach, Fl., Patricia Moody of Fernandina Beach, Fl. and Betty Jo Moody of Yulee, Fl. She also has a sister Betty Lou ( Richard) Shetters of Yulee, Fl. and a brother Loadice ( Laura) LeBlanc of Kaplan, Louisiana. She has 9 grandchildren ; Sherrie ( Dale) Kindt of Tupelo, Ms. , Joe ( Missy) Snead of Callahan, Fl. , Patches ( Kevin ) Wilkinson of Kingsland, Ga., James McManus of Ashland, Kentucky, Lynnette ( Tommy ) Ballinger of Winchester, Kentucky, David Moody of Fernandina Beach, Fl., Zach Kindt of Yulee, Fl. and Michael and Amanda Snead of Yulee, Fl. 10 great grandchildren. Tyler Snead, Garrett and Shelby Kindt, Austin, Cody, And B.B Snead, Blake and Weston Wilkinson, Dakota Paige and Breanna Ballinger .Several nieces and nephews and lots of friends , including special friends Carol Bennett and Tina Snead, all of whom she loved very much.
Nannie Mae took pleasure in watching Florida Gator football, spending time with her family and friends, playing Rummy/ Solitaire , board games and good ole Cajun cooking, not necessarily in that order.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chester Cemetery. Viewing will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
