John J. Leahy, Jr., 69, of Derry, NH died Tuesday December 7, 2004 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mr. Leahy was born in Boston, MA on June 10, 1935 a son of Grace K. Leahy and the late John J. Leahy, Sr. He had resided in Derry for the past 18 years, formerly living in Sudbury, MA. Mr. Leahy was a graduate of Stonehill College, North Easton, MA with a BA and later graduated from Babson College, Wellesley, MA with an MBA. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry.
He is survived by two sons, John J. Leahy III and his wife Polly of Harvard, MA, David J. Leahy and his wife Alison of Sacramento, CA, one daughter, Kathleen A. Leahy of Stoneham, MA, five grandchildren, Samantha, Jamie, Shannon, Kaylee and Michael, his mother, Grace K. Leahy of Medford, MA, one sister, Ann Marie Hyland and her husband Albert of Wayland, MA, also four nieces.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 11th at 11:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Following cremation, private interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA. Friends may call on Friday from 7 - 9pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
