Robert Eugene Busbin, Sr., 75, of Tifton died Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Billy Sumner officiating. Mr. Busbin will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 10, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Busbin’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Gay, Burt Connell and Todd Fletcher.
Mr. Busbin was born on January 25, 1939 in Worth County and was the son of Lee Busbin and Polly Dowdy Busbin, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joy Busbin; five brothers; and five sisters. Mr. Busbin was a farmer and was the manager of Bowen Farms. He was a cowboy and an avid hunter.
Mr. Busbin is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue Sumner Busbin of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Sharon Busbin and Bobby John Busbin, all of Tifton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Lenard Chambless, Sherry and Al Potts and Jessica and Heath Carmichael, all of Tifton and Judy and Bruce Larson of Illinois; one brother, Bill Busbin of Ocilla; two sisters, Patricia Owens of Irwinville and Peggy Burke of Ocilla; 13 grandchildren, Ches Chambless, Matt Chambless, Cruz Chambless, Leighann Busbin, Bobby Lee Larson, JoJo Larson, Callie Larson, Jacob Potts, Luke Potts, Summer Carmichael, Will Carmichael, Lagan Busbin and Lindy Busbin; and four great-grandchildren, Blake Chambless, Madison Chambless, Aiden Larson and Clark Larson.
