TEWKSBURY - Chester W. Lowrey, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 4, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Norma (Maxfield) Bowring-Lowrey of Tewksbury. He is survived by his sisters, Ruth O’Hagan of Lowell, and Doris Tereshko of Nashua, NH; his children, Penny Lowrey of Nashua, NH, Martha Jones of South Carolina, Peter Lowrey of Connecticut, Lawrence Lowrey of Dracut, Rhonda Plamandon of Epping, NH, Norma Levasseur of Lowell, Joanne McKenney of Lawrence, Rita Bryand of Dracut, Jacqueline Bowring of Alton, NH, and their spouses; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and close friends he regarded as family.
Chester was born in Lowell, the son of the late James and Rosella (Courchenes) Lowrey, and graduated from Keith Academy. He served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force during WWII, and was stationed in Hawaii. Chester had been employed in the automobile maintenance field for several decades in Lowell, beginning at his father’s garage in Pawtucketville, and later at Bournival Plymouth in Lowell.
He will be remembered for his quick wit and playful personality; always ready with a joke and a smile. He will surely be missed.
Visiting hours Sunday, November 9, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
