Judy Y. Stone, 92, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, November 3, 2014, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, November 6, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge and the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stone was born October 27, 1922, in Laurens County, Georgia, to the late Elijah Homer and Leila Vilona Bridger Yarbrough. She attended school at the Cotton Mill and lived in the community all of her life. She worked as a spinner at the Cotton Mill and as a twister at Tice Yarn. Mrs. Stone was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Bradley & Heather Stone of Perry and Jennifer & James Bridges of Orlando, Florida and great-grandchildren: Kaylee Stone, Isabella Bridges and Ashlyn & Austin Garnto. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Floy Osborne Stone; a son: Dwight F. Stone; sisters: Berta Mae Cooper, Ruby Perdue, Exielee Lashley, Annette Yarbrough, and Roxie Butts and a brother: Grady Homer Yarbrough.
