Roland J. Cayer, 64 of Windham, NH passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 14, 1950 in Boston, MA, a son of Marjorie (Mead) Cayer and the late Roland J. Cayer Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Anne (McLeod) Cayer, daughter Shannon Ferris, son Daniel Cayer and wife Ria, and daughter Meagan Clark and her husband James. Also survived by his pride and joy, his grandchildren who called him Pa: Jillian, Caitlyn, Brayden Ferris, Madison, Cody, Bailey Cayer and Kylie Clark.
Roland graduated from UMass Dartmouth and from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He worked for M/ACom for many years, later retiring from Cobham Industries in Lowell, MA. He had a passion for building and making improvements to his home. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family including Saturday dinners and trips to New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 4-8 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Mass of Catholic burial was celebrated on Friday, November 7th at 10:00 am in St. Matthew's Parish, 2 Searles Road, Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 40 Buttrick Road, Londonderry, NH 03053 or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 earmarked for Lung Cancer Research.
