Helen Ann Athanas Baker, 79, of Franklin, MA formerly of Freehold, NJ passed away on October 30, at her home.
Born in St. Louis, MO, Helen was the devoted daughter of the late Spiro and Magdelene Athanas. Helen was raised with her sisters: Jane Bartels, Martha Vincent, and the late Dorothy Gallo.
She lived most of her adult life in Holmdel and Freehold, NJ, prior to moving to Franklin, MA 9 years ago.
Helen was a talented seamstress, an avid singer, and a woman who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed all of the holidays and expressed her enthusiasm through festive clothing and holiday-themed accessories. She will be remembered as a kind-hearted person with a youthful sense of humor.
Helen was a beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son William and his wife Sidonie, daughter Leslie, daughter Melissa and her husband Wayne, daughter Megan and her husband Margarito, and daughter Kirsten and her husband Jacob.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Andrew, Lindsey, Christopher, Paulo, Helen and her great-granddaughter, Lindie.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Ginley Funeral Home, 131 Main Street Franklin, MA (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com)
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 7, 2014 at The Parish of St. Mary's, One Church Square, Franklin, MA at 10:00am.
Burial will be in St. Louis, MO.
