TIFTON – John Charles Milton, 66, of Tifton died Friday, October 31, 2014, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Warren Chesser and Father Paul O'Connell officiating. Mr. Milton will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with Father Paul O’Connell officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
John David Powers, Steve Powers, Chris Milton, Andy Cooper, Craig Saunders and Daniel Clary will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Milton was born on December 2, 1947 in Ocilla and was the son of Mary Lois Nolan Milton of Ocilla and the late Charles Harley Milton. He was the owner of Interstate Batteries of South Georgia and of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Milton is survived by his wife and best friend, Polly Powers Milton of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Andrea Milton of Tifton; one daughter, Christi Milton Grubbs of Waverly Hall; one brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Vicki Milton of Tifton; and three grandchildren, John Silas Grubbs, Hannah Grubbs and Gabriel Milton.
