Henry Lee Sawyer, 77, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Tifton, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the graveside at Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
Mr. Sawyer was born on June 9, 1937 in Dublin and was the son of Charlie William Sawyer and Dorothy McDaniel Sawyer, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Danette Sawyer; and one brother, Billy “Bumper Jack” Junior Sawyer, who died October 2, 2014. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Church of God faith.
Mr. Sawyer is survived by his daughter, Jackie Sawyer of Tifton and his son, William Nathaniel Sawyer of Fitzgerald; three brothers, Vernon Eugene Sawyer of Leesburg, Charles Wendell Sawyer of Hinesville and Danny Sawyer of Cullman, Alabama; two sisters, Mary Joyce Johnson of Sumner and Jennell Jean Youmans of Cullman, Alabama; several grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
