Yvette A. Simard, 76, of Litchfield, NH died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 17, 1937 in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Edouard and Alice (Pinsonneault) Cote. Yvette began her career working for AT & T, later working for the Manchester School District's call answering center. She retired from Notre Dame College as the Associate Coordinator of the Graduate Division. In earlier years, she volunteered as a Cub Scout den mother, softball coach, and Recreation Commissioner for the Town of Litchfield. She also served as a communicant of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry. She was an avid Red Sox fan, fantasy sports enthusiast, puzzle expert, and world traveler. She was best known for keen wit and infectious laugh. When reading the newspaper, she often flipped to the obituary page first.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roland Simard; one daughter, Jennifer Simard and husband Brad Robertson; two sons, Thomas Simard and Christopher Simard and wife Tara-Marie; and two grandsons, Christopher and Andrew. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Jean Cote and Gerry Cote.
Calling hours were Friday, October 31, 2014 from 3 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, November 1st at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry with cremation to follow. Private interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Litchfield, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Parish Building Fund, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH 03053.
