Obituary

Mr. George J. Campbell of Wrentham, formerly of Dedham, died Saturday Dec. 4 after a lengthy illness at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 80.

A Shrewsbury native and a World War II Army Veteran, he was the former president of Indisco Corp. of Dedham, where he was employed for 32 years. After retiring he took up Golf and once shot a hole-in-one. Mr. Campbell was an avid woodworker and craftsman who enjoyed projects both indoors and out. Extremely civic minded, Mr. Campbell actively participated in the Dedham Rotary Club for more than 25 years. He was also involved in many fund raising ventures for the American Cancer society.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patricia A. (Cunningham) Campbell. His children Dean J. Campbell and his wife Kimberly of Dover, G. Craig Campbell and his wife Elizabeth of Mansfield, and Lynne Campbell Stuart and her husband James of Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Campbell is also survived by his grandchildren Ian, Cameron, Graham, Megan, Claire, Catie, Aidan, and Owen. He was the brother of Ruth McKeon of Cranston, RI, and the late Russell, John, and James Campbell. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Thursday at 9 am. Funeral mass in St. Denis Church, Westwood, at 10 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30 pm.
