Peter Varnum Pierce, age 82, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from complications due to Parkinson’s Disease.
He was the son of the late Cornelius A. ‘Neal’ Pierce who deceased in 1987, and Louise B. (Varnum) Pierce who deceased in 1998, of Hyannis, MA.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan (Berry) Pierce of Oxford and two daughters, Teri Pierce and Jayne (Pierce) Loumiotis both of Hyannis and a grand-daughter and a grand-son.
Peter was a 1950 graduate of Barnstable High School.
He served in the Air Force and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
He was a Remodeling Contractor on Cape Cod for many years and retired and lived in Oxford for the past 27 years.
Peter served on a number of Oxford Town Committees, including the Founders Day Committee and Development and Industrial Committee. He was a prolific writer and illustrator.

A Celebration of Peter’s Life service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 70 Main Street, Oxford on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Contribution in Peter’s name may be made to; The National Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL. 33131 or to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund, 70 Main St., Oxford, MA. 01540.
The ROBERT J. MILLER-OXFORD FUNERAL HOME, 247 Main St., is assisting Peter’s family with arrangements.
