DUDLEY – Barbara A. (Szczepaniak) Cyganiewicz, 68, of 96 Charlton Road, died Saturday, Dec. 4, at home after a long illness. Her husband of 48 years, Joseph J. Cyganiewicz, died in 2003.
She leaves two daughters, Nancy C. Piscopo and her husband Michael of Dudley, and Donna D. Standrowicz and her husband Steven of Oak Park, CA; 5 grandchildren, Mia, Lissa, Garrett, Chad and Stephen; her mother, Ann D. (Beresik) Szczepaniak of Webster; a sister, Alice Bugbee of Dudley; 2 brothers, Bernard Szczepaniak of Bethlehem, NH, and Stephen Szczepaniak of Webster; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Bernard L. Szczepaniak, and was a lifelong resident of Dudley. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1953.
Barbara worked for many years as an office clerk at Bates Shoe Company in Webster. She also worked at Sears, Roebuck & Co. She then was a designer at St. George’s Flower & Gift Shop before she retired.
She was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality. She belonged to the 1-20 Club and volunteered to help at parish festivals.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Dec. 8, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the funeral home.
