Obituary

WORCESTER-Olive (Kote) Labovites, 78 of 591 Chandler Street, died Saturday, December 4th in Sunbridge Spring Velley Nursing Home. She leaves her husband of 52 years, Pericles Labovites, 2 sons, Mark J. Labovites of Worcester and George P. Labovites of Boston, a grandson, Nicholas M. Labovites of Worcester, a nephew and niece both in Jamestown, NY and several cousins in Jamestown and Framingham. Her brother, James Kote predeceased her.

She was born in Jamestown, NY the daughter of Peter and Martha Kote, graduated from high school in New York and moved to Worcester in the late 1940’s. Mrs. Labovites was a homemaker. Previously she worked as a seamstress of fashion clothes in Jamestown. She was a soloist in the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Choir performing in NY and Canada for various church conventions. She also enjoyed theater and musical production.

The funeral is Tuesday, December 7th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, December 6th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA, 01609.
