Funeral Services for Herman Black, age 65 of 2411 Chula-Brookfield Rd., Tifton will be held Sunday December 5, 2004, at 2:00 P. M. at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Black died Friday at his residence after a sudden illness.
Mr. Black was a native and longtime resident of Ashburn before moving to Tifton two years ago. He was the son of the late Henry Lloyd & Martha Idell Hampton Black and had served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church and a retired Service Repairman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers David Black and Lucky Black and one sister Annie Laura Black.
He is survived by his wife Irma Nell Hickman Black, Tifton, son Brian Black, Cordele a daughter Leah Cassell, Tifton, brothers Edward Ray Black, Hubert Black, David (Tim) Black, Sycamore, Billy R. Black, Ashburn, Herbert Black, Sylvester, Ga. and Joe R. Black, Ft. Myers, Florida and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday evening six until eight at the funeral home.
