MENDON: Melody Ann Barrett, 54, passed away at the INOVA Hospital in Alexandria, VA on October 8, 2014.
She was born in Marlborough on September 14, 1960 the daughter of the late John W. Barrett and Barbara E. (Cross) Barrett of Mendon.
Besides her mother Barbara E. (Cross) Barrett she is survived by her sister, Pamela Barrett and her partner Darlene Barrett of Uxbridge. She was the sister of the late Rodney W. Barrett.
Ms. Barrett was born and raised in Marlborough and attended the Marlborough public schools. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was the Boston College Golden Girl for 4 years. Ms. Barrett was a successful businesswoman and owner of Analytical Designs, Inc. with offices in Massachusetts and the Washington, D.C. area.
Melody traveled extensively throughout the world, both for business and pleasure. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, swimming and spending time at the ocean.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main Street (Rte 122), Uxbridge.
Private graveside services for her family will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Uxbridge.
