Obituary

Edward K. Bradshaw, 99, of Mystic died Monday, October 6, 2014 at Apple Rehab. He was born on December 14, 1914 in West Mystic, the son of Edward T. and Louise B. (Foster) Bradshaw.

He worked for 53 years as a boat builder at the Mystic Shipyard. He also built boats for pleasure for himself with the help of his father, Edward and his brother, Earl, so he could take all his nieces and nephews for rides on the weekends. His hobby was making clocks and music boxes for over 25 years. He was a lifetime member of the Mystic Hook and Ladder Fire Department joining on August 5, 1935. He was also an artist, painting various nautical scenes and all sorts of boats. He also painted many pictures of local areas. He was a wonderful, loving, caring man who always took care of his family.

He is survived by his niece Carolyn Tetlow and her husband Tom of West Mystic, nephew Robert Thibeault and his wife Carla of Georgia, nieces Sandra Bradshaw and Kathleen Bradshaw both of West Mystic, niece Susan Montgomery of Florida and nephew Todd Cropper. He is survived by his sister-in-law Catherine Bradshaw, as well as by his wonderful friend for over 60 years, John Goodrich. He is also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Earl Bradshaw, Elvira Thibeault, Lillian Gatchek and Barbara Cropper, as well as by 2 nephews Steven Gatchek and Jason Cropper and great niece Dayna Bradshaw.
