Obituary

Ivan G. Gallant, 82, of Hampstead, NH, died Thursday, December 2, 2004 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Gallant was born in Prince Edward Island, on December 31, 1921, a son of the late Moses and Ada (Kielly) Gallant. He was a resident of Hampstead for 11 years, formerly living in Westwood, MA. He was employed as a milk carrier for Whiting’s, Walker-Gordon’s and most recently for Crescent Ridge Dairy in Sharon, MA, retiring in 1985. He served during WWII with the Canadian Army with the West Nova Scotia Highlanders. Mr. Gallant enjoyed bowling, playing cards and gardening. He was also a communicant of St. Anne's Church, Hampstead.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (MacPhee) Gallant of Hampstead, a daughter, Arlene Gallant and her husband Luc St-Onge of Longueuil, Quebec, Canada, a grandson, Mathieu St-Onge of Longueuil, a brother, Everett Gallant of Prince Edward Island, a sister, Ruth Gallant of Brantford, Ontario. He was predeceased by four brothers, Howard, Rustin, Rendle and Roy, and a sister, Doris Crump.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7th at 10:30am in St. Anne's Church, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead. Friends may call on Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Private burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scarboro Missions, PO Box 61208 STN BRM B, Toronto, ONT M7Y2P1 or to the American Heart Assoc., Northeast Affiliate, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101.
