Lorraine (Monteiro) Craig, 62, of New Bedford passed away on Monday October 6, 2014 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of Kenyon M. Craig.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel D. and Caroline (Costa) Monteiro, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Craig was formerly employed as a dietary aide at Frances P. Memorial Hospital. She later worked in the Food Service Department of the New Bedford Public Schools.
She loved and adored her family. Her grandchildren were the joys of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Kenyon; her daughters, Corrie Craig-Bennett and her husband Harry Bennett Jr. and Nicole Craig; her sisters, Priscilla Monteiro, Nancy Miranda, and Jane DeBurgo; her grandchildren, Lakeisha Newson and Jayden Downs; her great-grandchildren, Jayana Katsules and Nicholas Katsules, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Robin A. Ribeiro and her husband Kenneth; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother, Michael A. Monteiro.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visitation will be on Friday from 9-11 AM prior to the service. Burial in Acushnet Cemetery. For directions and guestbook, please www.saundersdwyer.com.
