HUDSON, NH - Mr. Charles W. Bowser Jr., age 82, a Korean War Era Veteran, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 7, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, after a courageous ten month battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Theresa “Terry” (Santos) Bowser, with whom he had celebrated a 63 wedding anniversary this past September 27th.
Mr. Bowser was born in Cambridge April 28, 1932, a son of the late Charles Bowser and Bertha (Wilder) (Bowser) Daley, and was raised in Cambridge. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and served in North Africa and Europe with the Occupation Forces. He later served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
Charles lived in Tewksbury for fifteen years, before retiring to Hudson, NH five years ago.
He retired from Raytheon’s Marlboro Division as an electronic technician.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five children, Charles W. Bowser III and his wife Deborah of Nashua, NH, Thomas Bowser of Chelsea, Kathleen Ciampi and her husband Joseph of Westford, Michael Bowser and his wife Mary of Malden, Douglas Bowser and his wife Lyrae of Derry, NH; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Greenberg of Brockton; a brother, Raymond Daly of Middlestown, CT; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Janice (O’Neil) Bowser.
Visiting hours Thursday, Oct. 9, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, ph (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
